Kers Scented Candle came to Aloe Signs with a reference picture and an idea. Four working days of build time later, that idea was a 4 metre × 3 metre branded retail display set — CNC-cut OSB pillars, heavy-duty steel-framed shelving and a custom LED chandelier — manufactured in-house, installed on site and handed over on budget.
What did Aloe Signs build for Kers Scented Candle?
A complete 4 m × 3 m branded retail display set for the handmade candle and home-fragrance brand Kers Scented Candle. Every element was made under one roof, from raw board to the final electrical connection:
- Branded OSB pillars — CNC-cut panels, UV-printed with the Kers wordmark and ring motif, assembled into stacked columns that carry the shelving.
- Heavy-duty, lightweight shelving — OSB shelves edged in steel rather than conventional edging, so they hold a long span and a lot of stock without sagging, and without the dead weight of a timber frame.
- Custom LED chandelier — CNC-cut timber discs branded with the Kers logo, hung alongside filament-style globes above the display, wired and connected on site.
- Delivery and installation — assembled, levelled, connected and handed over ready to merchandise.
How long did the project take?
Four working days. The client shared the concept three weeks ahead of time, and once the Aloe Signs workshop had a clear run at it, the entire set — cutting, printing, welding, finishing, assembly and installation — was completed inside four working days, within the agreed budget.
How was it made?
Every process happened in the Aloe Signs workshop:
- CNC cutting — shelf components, pillar panels and the chandelier discs routed to size from OSB board.
- UV printing — Kers branding printed directly onto the board, so the grain reads through the artwork instead of disappearing behind a vinyl film.
- Welding — steel shelf frames and edging fabricated to carry the span.
- Spray booth — sealing and finishing before assembly.
- Assembly — pillars, shelves and the chandelier built up and dry-fitted, down to the small decorative details.
- Installation — delivered to site, erected and electrically connected.
Why use OSB for a retail display?
Because it suits the product. OSB — oriented strand board — is warm, textured and unpretentious, the same character as a hand-poured candle, so it supports the product rather than competing with it. It is also structurally strong and comparatively light, which matters when a 4 m × 3 m set has to be transported, carried into a retail space and stood up in a day.
Printing the branding straight onto the board with UV ink keeps that texture visible. The result is a shelf system that is unmistakably branded without a single applied sticker or vinyl panel.
What does a branded display set do for a retail brand?
It turns floor space into recognition. Every pillar, shelf edge and hanging disc carries the mark, so a customer reads the brand before they read a single label — while the shelving itself stays generous, with real storage space rather than display area sacrificed to decoration. For a producer selling a sensory product, the fixture has to feel like the product. This one does.
